Free Health Camp 2021

The Health Camp in Nalang for people from rural communities from the district of Dhading, organised by Shankar Silwal the Medical Director of The Yearley Trust, has proved to be a great success.

Final attendance figures are not yet available but around 

1,200 people have had eye checks and treatment, 

at least 57 cataract operations were carried out and 

539 glasses were scheduled to be handed out. 

87 people have also been referred to hospital in Kathmandu for further treatment. 

At the same time around 350 people have had dental treatment. 

All treatment was provided free of charge and all costs were funded by The Yearley Trust, including food and accommodation for the week of the camp.

The Trust would like to thank all its team based in Nalang for all their hard work and also the 45 volunteers from the community of Nalang who contributed to an extremely professional and well-run clinic.

We would also like to thank Dr Indu Prasad Dhunel and the whole team from The Nepal Eye Hospital Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, and Dr Ajist Kumar Pathak (oral and Maxillofacial surgeon) and the dental team for all their work which has helped to make such a big difference to the lives of so many people.
