THE YEARLEY- DIMITROVA WARREN AWARD FOR EXCEPTIONAL WORK IN PROMOTING WOMEN EMPOWERMENT IN NEPAL (NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS)

The Yearley Trust actively promotes girls and women rights and empowerment. We recognise that there are many unsung heroes out there doing the same. We are holding the Annual Yearley-Dimitrova Warren Award to provide them with the recognition they deserve!

The award includes a special presentation trophy, as well as a cash award. We present it to the young person, or group of young people, who in the opinion of the Trust have done the most, within the resources/opportunities available to them, to promote girls and women’s rights in Nepal.

The Award is made annually and the first award was in 2021.

The previous winner of the 2021 award was Saniya Giri.

2022 AWARD (NOW OPEN)

Deadline to apply for this year’s award to apply is 14 of January 2023

We will make the invitations for nominations for the award at the end of each year. We will publish details of finalists both on the Trust web site and Facebook page but also and in various media in Nepal.

Santoshi Shrestha, Nepali athletics legend and member of the Trust’s team in Nepal, is organising the awards. She will work in conjunction with the Trust’s directors in Nepal and Europe. Shantoshi will be inviting nominations at the appropriate time.

The Trust hopes that the Award will give the recognition and encouragement that all young people who are working to promote girls’ rights and empowerment deserve.

If you wish to apply or present us with an appropriate application kindly get in touch with Santoshi and the team on:
