Help us save lives, prevent deafness and  blindness through out rural areas by organizing 2 Medical camps a year from 2020 to 2022

Help us to save lives, prevent blindness and deafness in poverty stricken rural Nepal by donating money that will allow us to establish travelling Medical Teams that can see patients before basic and very treatable illnesses become life threatening.

Rural Nepal, which accounts for 81% of the country’s population, has absolutely no medical cover and the doctor patient ratio for the whole of the country is just 7.39% of the World Health Organisation’s recommended minimum.  Communicable diseases such as Cholera and Typhoid are significant causes of premature death but account for less than 50% of all deaths, more common are the deaths caused by treatable illnesses such as high blood pressure and respiratory diseases.  Cataracts and Glaucoma are also a major problem and account for a staggering 74% of blindness in the country, in addition to the illnesses that ultimately lead to deafness.

The Yearley Trust is hoping to raise enough money to create a Medical Team of at least ten suitably qualified doctors, nurses and dentists that can visit at least four different rural communities in a year to treat people.  The Yearley Trust wants to be able to treat a minimum of 6,000 people each year but that number does depend upon your donations:-

  • £5 provides basic eye tests for two people.
  • £10 provides treatment for three dental patients.
  • £15 will allow one person treatment for high blood pressure or respiratory illness.
  • £24 will allow one person to receive a cataract operation and be saved from blindness.

Every small donation helps and will help us reach our desired goal of at least £50,000 to fully launch the travelling Medical Teams and to treat very treatable illnesses and diseases.

This Cause is our effort to join Goal N3 – Good Health and Well-being from the United Nations  Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
