Alexander the Great, who 2,500 years ago ruled the greatest empire in the world at that time, said
“I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well”
The children of Nalang understand and are thankful to their teachers and demonstrated it on International Children’s Day.
Education is knowledge and knowledge is power, so it is essential that all pupils return to school as soon as it is considered safe by their school to do so. Their whole future and that of their families depends upon it. Any loss of education now will affect them for the whole of their lives.
With the help of funding from The Yearley Trust, and lots of hard work from the community, the students from Nalang Model Academy now have a refurbished and modern school that they can be very proud of.
But wherever children are, the Trust urges all pupils to return to their schools and to continue the education which will determine their future as soon as their school safely re-opens.
We also thank all teachers for all they do to help make life better for the young people of Nepal.
You and the pupils you educate are helping to make your country a better and more prosperous place to live.
