Educational trip and picnic to Gorkha

71 pupils and teachers including several members of The Yearley Trust team in Nepal set out from The Nalang Model Academy for a days educational and picnic trip to Gorkha. It was in Gorkha that the Shar dynasty defeated the surrounding kingdoms in 1768 to form The United Kingdom of Gorkha (which later became Nepal) and it is also the ancestral home of the world famous Gurkha soldiers. As such Gorkha plays a very important part in the history of Nepal.

The pupils visited all the historical sites in Gorkha and learned a lot about the history of their country and also they enjoyed a picnic on the banks of the Daraudi river before returning tired but happy to Nalang.
