French Knitting lessons in Nalang

Magali and Gabrielle Combard, part of The Yearley Trust’s team visiting Nalang, have brought wool and needles with them from France

and have been giving knitting lessons to the local community. An enthusiastic knitting circle has been formed with at least 20 women attending each session and the women getting together in the evening with their knitting. Knitting has now become part of their lifestyle

The Trust’s team have also been exploring some of the mountain tracks used by the children when walking to school and taking the same time afterwards to return home. They have been astonished with the energy and enthusiasm of these pupils to learn by navigating these tracks, for in some case 2 to 3 hours a day, to get to school but also inspired by the breath-taking scenery.
